Company History:

The Company was formed in 1992 as Poinciana Petal Gifts in its current locationon the South side

of Bay Street. The store traded primarily in t-shirts,and souvenir items and catered almost exclusively

to the tourist trade. In 1994the store underwent a transformation and became The Big Kahuna

a surf shop which traded in surf wear, sunglasses, sandals, and souvenirs. In 1996 the company

changed hands and began a series of changes. The product line was revaluated and updated;

and the market was expanded, by offering products to local customers as well as tourists.

In 1999 the physical premises were renovated to reflect a more modern and cleaner atmosphere in

keeping with changes on Bay Street as a whole. Upon reopening in early 2000 the store was renamed

Liquid Desert. The store trades primarily in trendy resort wear, fun beach products, surf wear,

and fashion jewelry. Liquid Desert invites and entertains both locals and tourists alike to this day.

Liquid Desert is a fun place to shop, combining a cutting edge sense of style with an

upbeat and entertaining atmosphere. Fun and laughter flourish at the Liquid Desert.

The company strives for fair profit for the owners and a rewarding and enjoyable place to

work for employees.

 

Vision Statement:

To entertain, amuse, and provide the tools for living and enjoying Nassau, the beautiful Bahamian water,

and the casual island lifestyle. The company aims to make a profit while maintaining a social and

cultural conscience, and to give back to the community in small but significant ways.
